Beauty | Late to the NARS Lip Pencil Party

You know those products that you read about everywhere and you feel like you are the only one who doesn't own one? Yeah that was me, then this happened...

NARS are a brand that I wish I could experience more. The lack of a local counter and the fear of online beauty shopping in terms of shades has always limited my purchasing of the brand. But then Christmas came around and I was lucky enough to receive the Lip Pencil Coffret (limited edition, sorry!) which houses five miniature Lip Pencils, some matte and some satin. Although they are not full size, you definitely get a decent amount of product. (These are 1.7g, where a full size is 2.4g) The shade range is fabulously diverse too, ranging from nudes to brights. I have to say, despite the rave reviews of the matte formulation, I wasn't 100% sold. I found that the pencils bleed a lot around the edge and built up in certain areas. The gloss formulation however is silky, easy to apply and long lasting.

First up, and my shocking favourite of the bunch is Descanso (satin), a nude with an ever so slightly peach undertone. This shade is great for everyday wear and goes well with a lot of makeup looks, it is easy to throw on and lasts well for a nude. Next up is Torres Del Paine (satin), a soft coral that's not too vibrant. This isn't a shade that I would usually reach for until I have a good tan so I'll probably take this on holiday. Moving onto brighter shades but sticking with the orange theme, Iberico (matte) which is a real in-your-face shade. But orange, hmm, maybe I can learn to love it. Something on the pinkier side of things is Yu (satin), a real vibrant fuchsia that is really flattering despite being intense. Finally is a really famous shade, Cruella (matte). A deep red that is almost a vamp-like shade. This is really beautiful on a night out yet bleeds along the edge so a lip liner is a necessity.

Have you tried out any NARS Lip Pencils at all? Make sure you leave your favourites and shade recommendations down below. Let me know if you were lucky enough to pick up this set as well! Thank you for reading!
