When I think of hair tools, my mind straight away thinks of the iconic brand ghd. I can bet that most of the time, yours will as well. In my opinion, this Limited Edition V Wonderland Styler* is the prettiest model I've seen. With a combination of green, blue and purple hues, the iridescent tool is definitely stunning to look at and to have on your dresser. In this gift set, you don't just receive a styler, but you also get some extra goodies including: a bag that converts into a heatproof mat, 2 sectioning clips and a protective plate guard. All very handy indeed.
The thing I love most about this tool is that it can not only be used as a flat iron, but is fantastic at creating curls too. You can find so many easy party looks to recreate here on the ghd website. The stylers are designed with rounded plates to ensure sleek and smooth curls. Although it took me about 3 hours to learn exactly how to curl with a pair of straighteners, I really do love the end result as the curls are looser yet voluminous than I usually have! I thought I'd share with you how I did it...
1. Place a section of hair in the flat iron at the root of your hair.
2. Flip the remaining dangling section of hair over the other side of the styler, so it hangs over the back side.
3. Rotate the straightener 360 degrees until the hair wrapped around the styler is facing outwards again.
4. Gently pull the styler downwards until all the hair is released to create beautiful loose curls.
It really does take practice and patience, but once you get the hang of it you can curl your hair fairly quickly and with ease. The length of time you take to pull the styler down defines your curl; taking longer means the curl will be tighter. Despite being on the pricier side of the market at £135, ghd's are known for being long lasting. Such a tool is bound to last you for years to come (taken from experience).
Do you own a pair of infamous ghds? Do you use them to curl as well as straighten? Let me know in the comments below, I'd love to know if this helps you to curl your hair too!

DeleteI love seeing posts on GHDs and it makes me want one even more but I really have to save up. I use the same technique with my straightener but it doesn't turn out as great since mine is getting real old and was really cheap.

DeleteThese look very fancy, don't they! my ghd's are just the boring black ones, i bought it in 2001, I think! It has lasted my ages! I used to use them to curl my hair, but now i use enrapture totem tool as I find it easier to create a more natural wave

DeleteThere such cute coloured GHDs. I often curl my hair with my straighteners & then brush them out for soft waves. it's such a quick & easy way to style your hair when you've learnt the technique.

I agree! They're amazing! xxx
DeleteI work for ghd and love seeing positive reviews for them! the wonderland styler was one of my fav collections and they sold so well! The funny thing is I never owned my own pair of ghd's until I started working for them and I wonder how I survived without them!!!! I spend most of my day teaching people how to curl their hair as that's what most people struggle with! I've been debating whether to do a review on ghd (Eclipse) on my blog but because my blog is only a month old and I work for them I don't want people to think I'm being biased but I honestly adore them!
ReplyDeletehttp://justjulie81.blogspot.co.uk/
Oh really, that's so cool! I know, they are such good quality! xxx
DeleteI bought this yesterday and I love it so, SO much. I came home and washed my hair and straightened it and then curled it just to experience both. This is my first ghd anything and I'm not regretting it. It straightens and curls so effortlessly and it heats up faster than any straightener or curling iron that I've ever owned. The Wonderland version is beautiful. I was buying the black one and then the lady ringing everything up pointed out the Wonderland LE version and they only had two left. I put the black one back and got this one. It's gorgeous, I'm very happy with it. You took some gorgeous pictures of the color shift.
