First we were all seated at our tables and offered a drink whilst we waited, I opted for homemade lemonade, and then the lunch began. First course was Chicken Schnitzel topped with cheese with a side of new potatoes, absolutely gorgeous. This was then followed by a jaw-droppingly gorgeous Chocolate Torte with berries & sauce and then the dining was finished off with the famous Betty's coffee & tea.
I learnt so much about the brand in my time at the event. Interesting facts such as the founder, Olivier Baussan, had stumbled into situations with visually impaired people in his time, therefore decided to put brail on all the packaging of his products. They also have a foundation which supports visually impaired organisations around the world. The first UK store was opened in 1997 in London and the brand now have around 75 stores in and around the country... After a bit of info, they asked for a volunteer to help with a demonstration of a facial using some bits from the new Divine collection and my grandma offered straight away - what a babe! She was cleansed, toned, serum-ed (is that a word, no!), oiled and moisturised and she absolutely loved every single second. She was even lucky enough to receive a full size Divine Cream which retails at a whopping £72!
We left with goody bags including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand cream. I know L'Occitane only for their hand cream so I'm excited to see what their other products are like. The event as a whole was brilliant and we're already booked up for Liz Earle in December! Let me know if you'd like to go to an event like this, food and beauty combined? Count me in!
