Beauty | The Unused Stash

We all have them; Products that we don't particularly use for whatever reason. Those little pots and tubes that live at the back of our drawers screaming 'Use me!' Okay, maybe not quite like that, but you get the picture. Today, I thought I'd share my unused stash with you - hoping that some of you may be able to shed some light on a few products and perhaps give me a reason to use them?

There's a few skincare bits that I pick up, think 'please don't break me out' and put back down. Once you are in a stable skin routine that works, it's really hard to break free from it. Well, that's me anyway. Elemis is a brand I've heard lots about but tried few bits from, their Melting Cleansing Gel has sat in my stash since the back end of last year. I think that it's about time I got my use out of it, don't you? A gem that's been raved about is the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, granted this one is a sample size! I've read numerous reviews rating it but I'm still pretty confused about how I exactly use this product?

Something I lusted after and still haven't used is the Beauty Blender. Despite apparently being able to blend foundation seamlessly into the skin and give a flawless complexion, I just feel this would take up too much time to use on a morning! I'm a bright lip during the day kinda gal, so my eyes are kept simple, but I bought the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On & On Bronze just because everyone else did. It's so pretty but alas, I'm yet to get to grips with it. On a whim I bought the MAC Blush in Desert Rose and there is literally no reasoning behind the purchase although it looks pretty wearable. *Sigh*.

Have any of you used any of these? If so, please let me know in the comments - I'd like to know if I'm missing out! Also, what's in your unused stash? I'd love to know that too. Thanks for reading!

  1. Great post - I'm definitely guilty of having products in my stash that I've never used, going to have to try and pull them out and find purpose for them, or give them away. I do love the Colour Tattoo's though, I tend to use them as a base for my eyeshadows, but I do wear more dramatic eye makeup. Hope you find purpose for these products - and that MAC blusher looks lovely!

  2. I got the tattoo eyeshadow and barely use it either, I still prefer to reach for my ordinary shadows! I have the real techniques version of the beauty blender and absolutely love it - it takes no time at all when you are used to it!

  3. That colour tattoo is one of my all time favorites! I love it on its own or as a base for a smokey bronze eye :) x

  4. The beauty blender is a really nice foundation applicator, so I'd definitely recommend you get some use out of it - at first, it does take a while to get used to, so you may find that applying your foundation takes slightly longer but once you've got the hang of it, it's pretty speedy! (:

  5. I'd like to know what you think of the melting cleansing gel Hun.
Once you get the hang of using the beauty blender, it'll take no time to use with your foundation.

  6. I haven't used any of these (though I really do want to try the beauty blender!) The one color tattoo I purchased that I probably didn't need is Tough as Taupe. It's really pretty but I've only worn it like two time. Whoops.

  7. I only use the Beauty Flash Balm occasionally but I find it works well if your skin is looking dull and no amount of makeup will help! Like if your foundation just won't behave one day or looks cakey, I smooth tiny bit over the top to revive my skin and make my base look light and fresher! xx

  9. I'm the same way with my skincare routine - scared to try anything else for fear of breakouts! These sound really lovey. I have also recently started wearing my color tattoo in eternal gold more often and am loving it!

  10. You have to start using the Beauty Blender and the Maybelline Colour Tattoo, they're two of my absolute favourite products! Once you get used to using the Beauty Blender, it's actually not as time consuming as you'd think:) Catherine xx

  16. I can totally relate! Who doesn't have a stash like this! I've really been trying to mix up my routine lately and use more of what I have. Still, I feel like I have so many things I don't make use of. Sigh :-)

  17. I cannot live without my beauty blender - honestly putting on foundation is never the same and you won't go back - I'd dip it and squeeze it in a little water first!

  18. I've got a ton of stuff that I've bought but haven't used, it's so bad! I love my beauty blended though, it does take a bit extra time than a brush but it gives great results! xx

  19. I love the idea of this post! The beauty flash balm is the best product I have used in ages. Got a review going up next week. You pat it into your skin as opposed to rubbing it and apply your foundation on straight after - gives your skin and instant boost! You will love it ;)

  22. So many people do this, but I honestly cannot understand. The minute something is in my possession I want play around with it. Even if it's just once. I'm far too curious to let things go unloved! x

  23. I'd love to see how that color of maybelline color tattoo looks on you. I always try to veer away from heavy pinks because they can make you look like you have pink eye if you do it wrong, but maybe you can inspire me to try more pinks!!

  24. I don't think you're missing out on too much with the beauty blender unless you have a super thick foundation. Thats really the only thing its amazing for! And for the price, not worth it!

  26. I never really lust on that beauty blender sponge.. I guess for me it's such a waste of product to use this. But I do have unused products like you too! Top of mind would be liquid foundation, I seem not to wear much of it lately :)
