Looking almost like a nail polish, Sun Beam comes in 13ml pot with a brush applicator attached to the screw-top lid - so compact and travel friendly! I apply it lightly across the tops of my cheekbones, on my cupids bow and a tiny bit on my brow bone - just for that extra lift. I'll then either take my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or my Real Techniques Stippling Brush to blend it in.
My only qualm with this product is that it does take some blending in. Sometimes when I apply it, it can look look like I've literally just slapped it onto my face. To make sure that it's all blended I'll take either my foundation or powder brush and really blend in the edges, so there aren't any harsh lines. But the finished effect is always worth the time.
This is a perfect highlighter for when I have a tan but when I'm a bit on the paler side it doesn't work as well for me. It's well worth going to a counter and swatching along with their other liquid highlighter, High Beam, which is probably better suited to lighter skin tones. What are your favourite highlighters to use? Let me know! Don't forget to vote in the Cosmo Blog Awards - I'm in the 'Best New Beauty Blog' category!
I love the Benefit highlighters! If you're finding that it's taking a lot of blending in though, you should try applying it to your finger instead of directly from the brush and tapping your finger along your cheekbone/wherever you want it. It goes on much more subtly but you can still see it's made a difference :). Doing that has cut down the amount of blending I do by quite a bit and works for both High Beam and Sun Beam xx

DeleteBenefit highlighters are a go to product of mine especially in the summer although I do find that too much just gathers in a gloopy mess but with the right amount they are gorgeous x
ReplyDeletewww.erraticglamour.blogspot.co.uk

DeleteI prefer powder highlighters or my NARS Multiple in Copacabana over liquid highlighters but I've heard great things about these Benefit ones. This colour is really pretty!

D'awh really - I need to get my hands on High Beam! xxx
DeleteI've not tried any of the highlighters from Benefit, the only things like this in my collection is Soft and Gentle MSF and some form of highlighter stick pencil thing from Benefit which I can't remember for the life of me... but I think high beam would be good for me, like you, i'm naturally pale so sun beam might be too orange toned for me x
ReplyDeleteJade | Beauty Butterfly Blog
I'm so eager to try out Soft & Gentle - looks so amazing! xxx
DeleteI love benefit highlighters too but I agree that they can be a pain in the arse to apply! I sometimes put them under my foundation instead so it doesn't mess it up :) xx

DeleteI can imagine this looking amazing on you, but with my pasty pale skin I think it would look like I had gold foil on my cheeks which isn't a look I generally go for :P xxx

DeleteI'm sure this would look gorgeous on you with a lil tan. I've tried the High Beam before, I liked the colour & the effect it gave but your right you really need the blend the product in.
