Makeup Haul: My first MAC experience & Benefit goodies! & 100 Followers!

Hey guys, I'm writing this whilst I clutch my tissues and drink my tea, yes, it's my turn to have those awful 'January germs' and to top it off I've had a rash on my face which has completely knocked my confidence these past couple of days. I've been drugged & creamed up by the Doctors so hopefully I'll be on the mend soon in time for the Laska Sak jam session on Friday! Anyway, more to the point of this post, last Friday I took a trip up to the Metro Centre in Newcastle & thought I'd share the wonderful things I picked up with you!

MAC - 'Gurrrrrrl you don't own any MAC products?!' I know, I know, I'm a terrible make-up junkie for not owning a single MAC product but I do now, okay! Unfortunately, there isn't a MAC counter in my town so it's not that easily accessible to me, but I took the advantage of going up to Newcastle to treat myself. I had the intention of buying a foundation & powder from MAC but literally had zero idea of where to start, so I want to say a massive thank you to Aleena from the MAC counter in House of Fraser for helping a little clueless girl out. She first of all asked what type of skin I had and what coverage & finish I was after and then told me that the 'Mineralize Foundation' would suit my skin & what I was looking for best! Aleena matched my colour up straight away with the shade NC15 (who knew I was so pale? Waaah!) & added the 'Mineralize Skinfinish Natural' powder in Light Plus over it to set the foundation & give it a matte finish in those shiny areas. When looking in the mirror I expected to see a ghostly version of myself but the foundation colour had surprisingly warmed my skin & I was amazed at the difference the powder made. I knew these products had to be mine! I was super appreciative for the help as I literally would have had every foundation in every shade swatched onto my arm if it wasn't for Aleena!

BENEFIT - As a self-confessed Benefit lover, I was so excited to spend the voucher my parents got me for Christmas. After getting a 'Porefessional' mini in my 'She's so Jetset' beauty kit for my birthday last year, I had my heart set on getting the full-sized version as I'd fell in love with the product. I have huge pores on my nose and this minimizes them brilliantly! The lovely Benefit assistant (sorry I didn't catch her name!) informed me that they had a deal with the 'It's about Prime!' where you get a travel size of the 'Triple Performing Facial Emulsion' and the full-sized 'Porefessional' for the price of the 'Porefessional' alone, so it was just a little added bonus! I was a little unsure of what else I was looking to buy after just purchasing the MAC products & owning a fair amount of Benefit products already. The assistant asked me about a highlighter and as I'd never used a highlighter from Benefit before I was a little reserved but I let her try out her favourite highlighter, 'Sun Beam', on me. As soon as she put it on my skin I could see the bronze gleam it gives, it definitely gave my face an instant glow. I feel this product will be perfect for those days when my skin is feeling and looking a tad dull!

I haven't had a proper chance to use the products in my make-up routine due to being 'poorly sick', but I can't wait to get better and use them! Perhaps I could review them in a couple of weeks! Do you own any of these already? What do you think? Let me know! Thanks for reading.
